I've been trying different ways to reduce stress, anxiety, and depression for several months now. I take Rhodiola rosea daily and D-Theanine if/when I need it, and both of which have worked well. Phenibut is an add-on, in light doses it puts me into a very positive and up-beat mood. I wouldn't use it to cope with depression on an ongoing basis, simply because it has such a pronounced effect curve and could be unpredictable and lead to instabilty in mood.
In heavy doses, between 1.5-2.5g I think phenibut is mildly narcotic. I'm familiar with recreational use of psychedelics and painkillers... to me a strong dose of Phenibut is somewhere between a mild vicodin/alcohol buzz and the mild euphoria of LSA. When I take that much I'm definitely not in a "sober" state, but I don't feel impaired either. There is euphoria and giddyness, with the feeling of a light drunkeness, sans the mental/phsyical impairment. An observer might think you are "on" something, and you might feel like it as well.
I would suggest phenibut be used in moderate amounts when you need to get into a positive mood, it provides a feeling of well-being and emotional connectivity with others. As a daily supplement, in my experience anything which is as strong as Phenibut is not easy to sustain in constant use, even Piracetam and other nootropics I have relgated to occasional use because over time they take their toll. Phenibut may have recreational value if you want to add to the enjoyment of an experience, but I'd reccomend against abuse or using as as high, if only for the reason that if it gains reputation as being a way to alter yourself, it will undoubtedly end up on an FDA schedule and be regulated. My overall impression is postive, it is an effective supplement that can prove useful, but I think it is one with which you should definitely exercise moderation and self-discipline. DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE PHENIBUT'S EFFECTS POTENTIAL. |
